Here’s a simple fix for those having problems with the pickups on the Genesis GP9’s. Using .010 Phosphor Bronze wire, solder them as shown. Doing so puts a little tension on those stub axles so they maintain contact inside those bearing cups. Also it helps to remove much of the grease on the gears and this will get into the electrical contacts. Besides the GP9’s I’ve done the GP38-2 which improved the running.
