So this morning it was raining thanks to the hurricane. I decided to start my next locomotive project. I have an Overland 4-6-2 that I have been kicking around to turn it into a Mopac class P 73. Starting with the tender I need to create a new one. To me the 17b has the lines and curves of a beautiful women. Just like my wife….whew saved myself. I have always wanted to make one over the years and today I got to it. Here is some pictures of the progress after two hours work. Yes, there is some dent work and cleaning up the edges to do, But I will do that tomorrow when I make the deck plate and if there is time the coal bunker.

Today I finish the coal bunker and the front top of the water tank. This concludes the tender body and now on to the frame.
I am thinking of making the dog house next as a subassembly.
In these three pictures the roundhouse crew moved the tender out of the house on some old ties. The look I was wanting and wishing for came through.

I am calling this one done I did install the couple lift bar after I took the four corners photo. It’s ready for paint but that is for a time when I get the locomotive completed.
The tender was built from the plans in the PFM P 73 booklet.
That is some awesome, and FAST, work – nice job!
