I couldn’t find a date in the MOPAC Caboose book or the article in the Eagle by Jerry Pitts on the ICC cabs….but, it the date on the photo is correct, it would be prior to 1948. To me it looks like both of the cabs in the photo are red and black. On the 1535 there seems to be a color separation at the top of the windows….on the cab behind it, it seems more obvious.
I will try to find some photo’s I bought several years ago I bought at the OKC train show. They are from a shop in OKC and have good dates as they were sold by the gentleman that took them. They are also black and white, but you can see the color difference…some might be older than 1948.
I do know the white stripe didn’t come until the early 1950’s, since the ICC cars were delivered without it.
