Charlie, the use of the Boomer Bill book as a “prize” for traffic soliciation would definitely tie the book in closer with the booster club activities and the suggestion that the company financed the deal. At some point, digitization of the book and the subsequent Boomer Bill articles in the magazines might be a good project.
The September 1931 MP Magazine carried the last Boomer Bill column. A news item in the May 1932 magazine stated: “Boomer Bill books will be distributed as prizes to Chief Boosters, rather than gold booster club buttons. The author, I.M. (Ike) Brown, was associated with booster affairs until his death less than a year ago.”
Here is a sample story from the book.
I have seen these, and have a similar one, though in much more “used” condition. Most likely they were an advertising tool which was handed out to prospective shippers when they were visited by traffic department representatives.

[attachment=2:3ilsx4uk]file_003.jpg[/attachment:3ilsx4uk]Excellent idea, Charlie. As we fill this out, it could eventually be used for a stand alone article in some future Eagle. With regard to the move from K Tower in Pacific, MO… Per MP Magazine, May-June 1962:
Consolidation of three separate dispatcher offices into one location on the Eastern Division was completed recently. KC- St Louis and KC-Diaz are now located at Jefferson City. CTC machines at Pleasant Hill MO and “K” Tower in Pacific MO were moved to the refurbished booster hall adjacent to Jefferson City passenger station.

A sidebar discussion to the dispatcher train sheet review is a discussion of the MP dispatcher offices.
As of December 1, 1962, the following dispatcher offices/dispatcher seniority districts were listed in the agreement between MP and the American Train Dispatchers Association:
Chester, IL
Poplar Bluff, MO
Little Rock and Gurdon, AR
Monroe, LA
Kansas City, MO
Jefferson City, MO
Osawatomie, KS
Houston, TX
Palestine, TXBy this time, many smaller dispatcher offices had been consolidated into the above offices, and the above offices were in turn further consolidated down into fewer offices until the final consolidation into Omaha in 1990. A worthwhile project would be to establish the operating years for the various smaller dispatcher offices – some were located at rather surprising locations.

Nice purchase of the calendars-good condition and a great price. They all look like originals to me. That 1946 calendar has always been a favorite — MP distributed large (18×24 ?) prints of that scene which were framed and hung at many stations.

The window arrangement on each side and the rear platform railing look like they match car #1. I thought that the car named “The Eagle” became MP 1, but some on the MPHS facebook page were suggesting otherwise. Can anyone confirm either way?
MP #1 was originally MP #12, built by Pullman in 1926 and rebuilt by ACF at some date that I cannot read on my diagram. If someone has a legible diagram to read the rebuild date, I suspect these ACF photos were “builder” photos when the car was completed.

Really nice weathering job on the ROCK Geep, shown in the first part of this thread. It gives the appearance of grimy everyday use without being over weathered.
BillInteresting photo. I had not seen a MoP rail bus of that vintage, nor one that was for passenger and express/LCL service. Was this the original type of bus that operated on the Houston North Shore line after the electric service ended?
Bill PollardIf someone has a December 1956 Official Guide, is the St. Louis – El Dorado Pullman run (southbound in train 1-31-821, northbound in 822-32) listed as a 10-roomette 5-DBR car?

Cascade Drive, after its return to the B&O.
If you have the Mike Adams book on the White River Railway (MP White River Division) there is a photo of Cotter on page 137 — not great, but a photo. There is also a drawing of the Cotter depot on page 167, taken from company blueprints, which would give you better dimensional information.

A chronology would be a massive undertaking, but would be really helpful to researchers. Have you given any thought to how it might be structured? A spreadsheet (Excel) might be the easiest format, with a few people actually making changes that were submitted by everyone else who might wish to participate.
It would be important for each date to be backed up with some reference — a citation in a newspaper, a timetable issue, etc. There have been a few generalized efforts in the past — such as a chronology of corporate history, but integrating that information with other material such as track abandonments, train offs, division expansion or consolidation, etc., would indeed be helpful to future researchers.
