From what I heard it rolled down the hill off an industrial spur
luisflierl26ParticipantInteresting.
Where did you get the last photo?
luisflierl26ParticipantBill, It Makes you wonder what is still buried in the caverns under Union Station. MOT has some station signs in its collection, I have not seen all of them. Who knows, maybe its still buried somewhere.
luisflierl26ParticipantWish we had the sign
luisflierl26ParticipantThanks Bill.
New CDs are in consideration. This period was chosen because the collection was complete with no missing drawings. Hopefully we can get the earlier passenger cars done as well. Hopefully several more digital CDs will be available in the coming year.Any support for the project is appreciated, both in sales as well as donations of money or source material that will help the project.
This CD would not have been possible without assistance from Bill Pollard & Ted Ferkenhof.
Volunteers with experience working with digital files and that have access to high speed internet are also needed. Access to professional editing software like Photoshop and Adobe is also needed. Work can be done from home.
luisflierl26ParticipantSome of this material is covered in the MPHS 5 DVD set

luisflierl26ParticipantI’m wondering is the fabric is a recover and not original to the seat
luisflierl26ParticipantBill:
All County employees were given layoff notices effective Dec 31, even though this transfer has not been approved by the County Council. They have been promised first opportunity at other County Park jobs available.
I’ve spoken/emailed some TMA board members, and they say operation will continue as normal, and some County employees will be talked to about re-hiring. We will see how that works out.
I personally have mixed opinions about it. Government control has red-taped many issues. If TMA hires the right people, it could prove a good thing. Being under non-profit status may open them up to some funding opportunities. Feelings locally are very mixed with people as you can imagine.
The MP baggage/caboose is still there, but in almost unrestorable condition, and the trucks are not original. Kevin looked at it in some detail about a year ago, he may have more info. I’m sure it would be on the disposal/scrap list assuming they do that. There are many pieces in the collection that are probably beyond reasonably saving, and are taking up valuable space and resources.
The transfer agreement with County does have some limits to what can be sold/scrapped in the next 5 years. Also scrap metal prices are almost too low to bother at this point.

luisflierl26ParticipantSomeone commented on the Facebook page that it was donated to the town of Sedalia, but is now stored in NLR at Jenks Shops and is painted yellow.
This is a different mini train than the one UP tours with and I believe based in Cheyenne.
