    New Member here.

Living in Arkansas my choice may be a little biased but Fort Smith would be my first choice.

    1. Lots of history and things to do in Fort Smith and neighboring Van Buren for both members and spouses.

    2. Rich railroad history.

    3. Close to yards and active railroads. Fort Smith Railroad, UP, A&M. “Possible Yard Tour?” “Excursion on the A&M?”

    4. Easy travel to location. (I-40, Close to regional airport)

Bill thanks for your reply. I found a plan in and old T&P passenger car diagram book that shows the

the water tank to be 3 16″ diam x 84″ long each. I also found a photo and you can see 3 tanks

running down the center of the car, in the recessed lounge area. Another thing there is something

On the rear end mounted to the floor looks like 2 generators at 90 deg from center line.

they are on the Hallmark T&P dome car under body . Several other boxes as well. Can’t tell which one is the AC unit.

And the mystery continues. Can some one name the equipment shown in the photo’s?

Yes, StLB&M 9191 became the first MP 1253 and B&N 10 became the first MP 1254

    Per MoPac diesel power, MP 1252 was a SW-9, built in4/51 as StLB&M as9190. Renumbered as 1252 and then 1216. It was retired in 2/85. There no SW-1200 numbered 1252. For whatever reason, SW-1200s #1200 & 1201 were renumbered to 1253 & 1254. Gene s.

    Charlie and all:

I just talked to A. T. Kott the other day via phone, boy it was 90 minutes. I be-leave he said he did measure it

for Protocraft to produce a model. Even though I am into passenger cars, I am real tempted to get one.

Trouble with that is you need about 50- to 80 for a ART reefer block. So at 280.00 a piece that 22400.00. 😆

That would be impressive to see. I think in the future Protocraft will also do the MP Merchandise series of cars as well

Thank you for your comments. FWIW this has turned into a lot of work putting this article together.
I still have parts 3 and 4 to go. Part 3 is in the works, and will cover the soldering of the roof to the sides.
Special side note how to scale drawings using Proportional dividers — calipers— and scale rules. Very us-full in
building models for unknown size of features

The Foredoom flex machine your best price is Otto Feri jewelry supplies. you can get a nice set with a lot of
accessories for about 230.00 it will last a life time. http://www.ottofrei.com/Store/Foredom-Flex-Shaft-Kits/Foredom-M-SR-FCT-H-30-Flex-Shaft-Kit_2.html

    this is what I have.

    Thanks again

    Hi to all.

I received my passenger car CD today, and just wanted to say thanks and what an effort to do this.
I say thanks to all that had a hand in putting this information together .

I sincerely hope that a follow up CD can be produced for the Earlier cars 1939-1963.

If this subject interest you, I strongly recommend this CD, it is very well done.

    Charlie,
