Is there any way I can arrange to receive an email once a week with all the new postings for the forum? I have managed that with the S Scale SIG and it works great. Once every week I get updated on all new posts. I don’t miss anything that way and my in-box is not cluttered with daily notifications.

    Ok. Thanks for help.

Are there perhaps any good photos of this pig, that would let me make some decals of it ?

    Charlie,

did you ever tried out the “Panel line Wash” colors of “Ammo By Mig” ?

    You should.

    a video about it :

I use it in different shades for example for door edges and louvers.

When did C&EI 84 (MP 1776 2nd) lose its torpedo tubes on the roof? Was that done at the time it was rebuilt as 1776, or had they come off earlier?

Bill, thanks for posting the diagrams of the units. I hope that those can be digitized as part of the MPHS archives.

    Bill and all

I have the original MP painting diagram for this or 1976, they are put away but I will look for today. they are very large.

I have no use for them so we or MPHS need to figure out what to do with them.

OK according to the drawing this was done at the MP Mech Department St Louis 1 26 1976

Does anyone have drawings of the lettering on these bicentennial locomotives? They were painted at North Little Rock, but one report suggests that the detailed lettering was handled by an outside contractor for Baird Signs in Little Rock. Can anyone provide additional information on how this design was developed and who might have been involved in the lettering?

    FWIW opinion only.

If it is Oddballs decals I would look at them be for you Buy. His printer or him were notorious for
color drift. It was like he printed them but did not care what the end results were.

I have some Heavy weight sets that the deluxe gold color is the color of mud, and when applied to a dark car side
just makes it worse. and then there is the issue of size when he printed for larger scales.

Now I will give him a + for his Eagle sets in the silver set. I wish the MPHS society would buy his art work
and get some one to print these again. I would take 25 sets in O scale.

I liked Tom and it is just sad the way things have gone for him.

Jezz a new lease on life for and old concept, in its time was good for the 1980″s.

I vote for Charlies Idea for new sides. It would be easier to do. the center panel was tedious but could be done.

    I will watch with interest.

Now to answer your questions. Delta Models had an extensive line for all the Mopac models back in the 1980’s Bill Basden was the creator of the concept to to change out the side panels. The product line was sold by Bill and the other party sold it again to some one else.

Then is just died and disappeared. In all over a 4 year period there were 35 different configurations to change using the side inserts.
There were Mopac T&P southern ACL and I have lost tract.

Bil since got out of HO scale and now has a line of O scale resin parts.

Now fast forward to what you want to do. Unless you just want a few for you self, and not do retail your OK. yor cost would be about
300.00 for materials and then you have to build the masters. If you go the Cadillac route your looking at 2-3 K resin and rubber is not cheap.

Now I can provide a drawing based on an HO model for size and locations for the Portholes. will try to up load it to the forum
    for all to use.

Good luck on your endeavors. I have attached some Body shell photo’s of the Mopac versions.

[attachment=0:c17rpzav]DSCN1059.JPG[/attachment:c17rpzav]This is a follow for this project now completed. This model won 1 st place at the recent O scale West
meet in Santa Clara California. This is a favorite model contest, some 380 people voted for this.

There will be a series of articles coming soon in the O scale Resource online publication,
on how I built the model.
