Thanks for the info and up date. If the can do these for 499.00 retail that would be something.

Now here is a little bit to watch for. Atlas finally did complete the entire train for the California Zeyfr, but it took them
5 years to do it. Key models announce there CZ Project in O scale be fore Atlas, Key has not delivered there first car
as yet. But this is for the hi end market buyers the 10 car train will be close to 18-20 K.

Because of this delay many people are pulling out of the project. But Dan Devita for Key Model has said he can not cancel
the project as he is in it for over $ 500,000.

    Hello charlie:

If i remember cleanly they announced this and I do not ever think it was made. I never saw another posting about it.
they did make some very nice Mopac F-3 models, but imported very few.

It would have been nice for the O scale side of the hobby. The atlas models in O scale were approaching close to a 1000.00 bucks.
now a lot of O scale modeler simply will not pay that for plastic. Example I can buy O scale brass models done by Overland OMI
like the E-6 and E 7 E8 and re-due the drives and new details and paint them for for about 800. Now I have a brass model for close to plastic.
    more bang for the buck.

The other thing you need to watch in Atlas O scale is the drives that they put in, some of the designs the builders come up with are just
stupid. They will not pull 6 cars up a minimal grade. the were termed the China vertical drives. Motor mounted vertical with a small flywheel.

Please contact me if you need more in put on this. Most of this is my opinion based on preferences.

These are some of the GP15-1’s I took in Monroe La around 1988. I also photographed MP 1666 in McGehee Arkansas. I modeled 1666 by taking an already decorated Athearn GP15-1 and simply removed the existing numbers off it and added the new numbers from an Herald King decal sheet. All this took about 2 nights, one of the most simplest modeling projects I have done to date.

    Brian,

try the white wash of Vallejo.

    http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/model-wash/family/29

It is water based, needs no thinning and it needs 3-5 layer for a fading. So the fading is easy to dose.

great comments and suggestions. This is the one I use mostly, but do check the other MP sites as well.

FWIW I have a link from my web site to this one and the MPHS site.

If I have a project build model in the works, this is where you can follow what I am doing, or have planned.

I am currently finishing up on the T&P 300 Baggage Dorm model. I need to up load more updated photo’s
in the O scale section, I am in the paint and lighting phase right now.

Next up for me will be the IGN 896 Pullman dome car.

I am with Dick. I check the face book pages daily, lately there have been some good stuff show up.

Now for the rest of the social media I do not bother trying to keep up. There was one that I got banned from
OGR O Gauge Railroading also known as the NK forum as in North Korean they did not like my comments and started to censor every thing I was posting. When I get ticked off I shoot from the hip. They did not like anything dealing in 2 Rail, there all toy train TCS folks.

If you get tied up on all of these forums you can’t play trains and build MP models 24/7. This is what retired people do Me Dick? and Charlie?

Charlie her is a link to an auction for reporting some one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Central-Locomotive-Works-GP38-2m-Brass-Diesel-/191834544123?hash=item2caa3ad7fb:g:3k4AAOSw~OVWwn2z

Go to the area in descriptions and payments—-look directly to the right you will see report and Item.

Now use the drop down menu, you want the one for fraudulent listings.
It may get this ass hole off the site. you will get E bays canned response
    after you send it..

    Charlie and all:

If the dealer is representing as original and you know it’s not you can file a complaint with Ebay and they will shut him down.

I have done this many times to sellers. One in particular Firecarbill from Pauduca KY. was selling a knock off of some J Collias books
as new. He is known as J D Harris of the Bobby Hall Days.

I encourage you to by this book.

I have completed reading of the first 3 chapters of this great book. Now not being much of a historian when it comes to railroads
but this book interested me because I am a IGN person for this sub of the MPL.

The 3 chapters has a lot of the skulduggery and conniving that went on to build a rail road. send out an inspection train and
end up with terrorist acts and murder a death by wrecking the train, all in 30 miles.

And oh yes the Union Pacific had there hand in a lot of this as well. Really sounds like there was and earlier Bernie Madof
person’s when it came to bonds and money an land grants, a lot of which was never intended to be use for what it it was for.

At this point I can not say if there are any errors in the history the book, so I will say it is accurate as printed. The Author looks to have done
his home work.I would have to say that from what I have read, that considerable years passed to write this.

As I continue to read more chapters, I will write more about the book.

I hope you get something out of what I have to say but please remember it is my opinion only.

    Regards
