John G. German came to the Missouri Pacific from the Great Northern in 1961. His initial position was Chief Mechanical Officer and he retired as Vice President-Staff in 1983. Virtually everyone that worked for the MP during this time was familiar with his name.
Mr. German was honored as Man of the Year by Modern Railroads magazine in January 1980. A copy of this article is presented below.
