Thanks Charlie. I haven’t decided yet if the speaker is going in the fuel tank or in the cab.
The cooling coil set is another 3D print. It took some trial and error before it looked right. Sometimes I’ll do 3-4 test prints before it works.
Updating a little more progress this week. Not a lot to show. I was working on the grab irons and it was one of those times when nothing you do goes right.
So, I quit for a few days and came back to it. I finally got them in place like I wanted. I was able to add the lift rings to the hood also. Next time I have a picture it will be in blue.
One other item I’m going to add. This photo shows a shield over the headlight that matches my prototype.
I think I’ve got worked out how to replicate it and will be adding to the finished model.
Finally in blue paint and decals. I have some touch up to do and still need to add a few details.
Waiting on some MU hoses to finish the pilots.
I had to do some searching for the decal sizes I needed. The MI letters under the cab herald and the number boards came from an N-scale boxcar set from Microscale.
I hope to have the shell final in another week so I can get it back on the chassis.
Finished…..at least for now. I installed led headlights and got most of the touch up done. Still debating on how much weathering I’ll add. Always afraid I’ll mess up a paint job with too much.
Here are a couple pictures of the hood ends. The parts worked out well and made the conversion fairly easy.
I’m a little slow on building so probably took me longer than it should have. It’s a unique model so I’m tempted to do another.
Thanks for looking.
Mike
Very impressive model! The small class lights look great and I like what you did to the headlights. Looking forward to the second build.
