Finally got the girder bridge and trestle finished and installed coming out of Ste Genevieve over South Main Street and the south fork of Gabouri Creek. The model has been scaled down from Google Earth to fit the available layout space.

Very nice modeling; I’ve been to Ste Genevieve numerous times and missed seeing that bridge.

Thanks Charlie. The bridge was a fun build with styrene. Adding the Archer rivet decals not so much <g src=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />.

            Gregg,
That’s a fantastic replica of the Missouri-Illinois Ste. Genevieve railroad bridge and trestle. Would like to see more photos of your layout.

Thanks for those kind words, Jerel.  I am in the early stages of building the layout (and of course, the plans are always changing).  I’ll certainly post more as it progresses.

Of late, I’ve been working at the bench. This 1932 ARA boxcar is just out of the paintshop and is an O scale resin kit from Jon Cagle (Southern Car & Foundry). The decals are produced by Norm Buckhart at Protocraft.  Weathering not yet begun.   After building this one, I quickly ordered 3 more <g src=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />.

What paint did you use on the boxcar?

Hi Pat – for the color coat, I used Tru Color TCP-139 MoPac Boxcar Red.
