You just gave me a great idea for my next round of business cars
luisflierl26ParticipantAccording to some internet sources it was auctioned off in 2013 – there is a page claiming to own his NYC photo negatives.
On the other hand his obit in TRAINS MAGAZINE says this –
Throughout these decades, Vollrath amassed a collection of some 50,000 negatives, about 8,000 of which were his own work. He made and sold 8×10-inch prints — which appeared widely in books and magazines — until failing health began to curtail his activities in 2012. His grandson, David Hertenstein, has taken over the print-selling business, and the family intends to keep the negative collection intact.Then there is this website selling the Volrath APP which I did not download, so I can not search it at this time.
FYI – we do have a few Volrath prints in the MPHS archives, but would love scans of other images.

In addition to MP, there are many more T&P, IGN, MKT, Frisco, and other Texas lines, some of the photos dating back to the 1800’s. They also have Baldwin builder cards, maps, and some other interesting items.
In the top right corner above the photo is a DOWNLOAD button – you can then save the images to your harddrive. However the online images are higher resolution and you can use the zoom tool to get great detail on these photos.
luisflierl26ParticipantThere is a little bit of steam footage on the MPHS 5 DVD set, and I have seen a few other films, but it is a rare treat to see it.

luisflierl26ParticipantApparently it was a good thing we did not get this – when they went to scrap it they found asbestos insulation & they now have to do an abatement before scrapping it.
luisflierl26ParticipantI just ran across a set of T&P steam era photos taken in I believe Palestine, TX. They are part of the MPHS Archive collection. No photographer is listed. Anyone know who took them? The depot appears to be burned in the one photo, which might help date them.
